ST. LOUIS, MO – Redshirt junior Greg Flournoy had his NCAA Championship run cut short on Friday morning at the 2015 NCAA Wrestling Championships in St. Louis, MO.
Wrestling in the consolation bracket, Flournoy drew Drexel's Noel Blanco after defeating Brandon Zeerip Thursday evening to remain alive in the tournament. The two saw a scoreless first period and Flournoy took the 1-0 lead in the second period on an escape.
Blanco escaped after starting down to begin the third period to tie the match at one and it remained tied at one until five seconds remaining in the final period when Blanco took down Flournoy for the 3-1 decision.
Flournoy ends his season with a record of 28-12 while Jake Kettler ended his season yesterday with an overall record of 27-13. Flournoy now has 64 career wins, 28th all-time at George Mason. Kettler ends his collegiate career with 61 wins in three seasons at Mason, 30th all-time and 22 pins as a Patriot, good for the sixth most in program history.
