Mason men's tennis defeated Ashford University 6-1 at the Van der Meer Tennis center in Hilton Head S.C. The Patriots won the doubles point to begin the match and then won five of six singles.

Mason swept the doubles matches. At No. 1 doubles James Lange and Joe Hill scored an 8-5 win over Taach and Rascle.  Coner Moran and Daniel Gutierrez beat Merino and Pico 8-2 at No. 2 doubles, and Nick Barker and Wong defeated Van Rooijen and Benetis 8-5 at No. 3. 

The Patriots only singles loss came at No. 6. Aaron Capitel scored the first win beating Bert Van Rooijen 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. Jimmy Lange followed with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Gian Pico at No. 1 singles. Tanner Baine secured the team victory with a win at No. 4 singles, beating Brayton Rascle 6-1, 6-4. At No. 5 singles Nick Barker beat Lucas Benites 6-1, 6-3 and Joe Hill beat Eric Taach 6-0, 7-6 at the No. 3 position. 

The Patriots see action again on March 12 versus Michigan Tech, at the Long Cove Club in Hilton Head, SC. Match time is 2:30 pm.
