Bloomsburg, Pa. – The George Mason wrestling team used two falls and three major decisions on its way to a 30-12 victory over Bloomsburg on Sunday afternoon.
The win is Mason's second consecutive dual victory and evens the Patriots' record at 9-9 this season and a 3-3 finish in EWL competition. Mason next wrestles conference foes at EWL championships at Rider University on Saturday, March 7.
Sahid Kargbo started Sunday's dual with a third period pin against Tanner Cahill at 6:38 to put the Patriots up 6-0. After a loss at 149lbs. Mason rattled off four consecutive wins by Greg Flournoy, Patrick Davis, Ryan Forrest and Ryan Hembury, Flournoy (20-7) and Forrest (11-3) each won by major decision while Flournoy picked up his seventh consecutive win and 21st of the season.
Jake Kettler returned to the win column with a recorded fall over Dominic Carfagno in 3:52 and Vincent Rodriguez recorded the final victory of the afternoon, a 19-5 major decision over Andy Schultz at 133lbs.
