George Mason track and field wrapped up its weekend Saturday night at both the Scarlet and White Invitational at Boston University as well as the Meyo Invitational hosted by Notre Dame.
Freshman Logan Miller led the Patriots Saturday in Boston with a first place finish in the men's mile, snagging the top spot with a time of 4:09.28. Sophomore Steven Flynn finished third in the same event with a mark of 4:09.49 while Michael Conway took second place in the 3000m with a time of 8:16.71. Sean Daugherty took second in the pole vault with a height of 4.65m in just two tries, while Logan Besougloff finished third in the event reaching the same height on his third attempt.
Mason also performed well in the women's pole vault with Lindsay Horton taking third with a height of 3.80m and Megan Kaiser coming in at eighth with a mark of 3.50m. Senior Bethany Sachtleben finished third in the 3000m with a time of 9:49.81 and Heather Selheimer (2:55.13) and Bailey Kolonich (18:31.60) earned a fourth place finish in the 1000m and 5000m, respectively.
Jimi Tele led the way for the Meyo Invitational contingent finishing fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 15.19m. The men's 4x4-relay squad (Xavier King Jr, Bernard Freeman, DaQuan Smalls, Angel Coburn) also took fourth with a time of 3:11.25. The women's 4x4 team (Taylor Sharpe, Jasmine Robinson, Shavon Briscoe, CaeLa Williams) finished seventh with a mark of 3:42.58 and freshman Taylor Sharpe finished sixth in the 400m with a time of 54.5, marking a personal best for the Patriot. King, Jr. finished 13th in the 400m with a time of 47.83, the best time in the Atlantic 10 this season.
Friday night in South Bend, Bernard Freeman (21.69) and DaQuan Smalls (21.95) both set new indoor personal records. Jasmine Robinson set a new personal best in the in the 200m with a time of 24.83 and Shavon Briscoe ran a season best to improve her top ranking in the A-10 in the 60m hurdles with a mark of 8.53.
