George Mason earned both male and female Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week nods as Xavier King, Jr. and Taylor Sharpe claimed the honors after strong finishes at the Patriot Games.

Sharpe, a freshman from Pickering, Ontario, finished second overall and first amongst collegiate competitors in the 400m and won the 200m dash with times of 55.26 and 24.68. Both times are ranked second in the A-10.

King, Jr. took the silver in the 400m dash, running a converted time of 48.26. The Virginia Beach, Va. native ranks first in the conference in the event.

The Patriots return to action this weekend when they send groups for the Meyo Invitational hosted by Notre Dame and the Scarlet & White Invitational at Boston University.
