Two Bronze Finishes for Swimming & Diving at Day One of A-10 Championships

GENEVA, Ohio – The George Mason swimming & diving team placed third in both the men's and women's 200-yard medley relay on day one of Atlantic 10 Championships on Wednesday.

The team of Kara Tansill, Amy Tansill, Sydney Fisher and Kelsey Sorensen finished only behind first place Richmond and Fordham in a time of 1:41.96. Jesse Burnley, Johann Shim, Travis Lauri and Zepher Begnell earned a similar third place finish behind UMass and first place St. Bonaventure in 1:29.80.

In the 800-yard freestyle relay, Mason placed eighth in the women's race and just missed the podium in the men's event, finishing fourth out of eight teams. The men hold the third spot in the standings after day one with 62 points while the women place seventh with 54 points.
