Fairfax, Va. –Redshirt freshman Matt Voss(HWT) was named the Eastern Wrestling League's Freshman of the Week Monday.

On Sunday, Voss defeated Clarion's Zach DeLuca 6-5 clinching the dual win for Mason. The redshirt freshman later earned a victory by decision, 7-3, against Grand Canyon's Sean Medley. This is the Edgewood, Wash. native's first career Freshman of the Week honor.

Voss is currently in the midst of a three-match winning streak dating back to a victory earned at the Grapple at the Garden event held at Madison Square Garden. Voss and the Patriots will take on Davidson Dec. 21 in a matchup between Atlantic 10 Conference rivals.
