POWELLS POINT, N.C. --The Patriots golf team is currently in fourth place at the ODU/Outer Banks Invitational. Mason scored a four-under 280 in first-round action and currently two strokes out of second place going into round two tomorrow.
ODU's David Langley shot a 63 in the first round and stands in first place of all 93 golfers in the event. Campbell leads the team race after the Camels fired a 267 (-17), while ODU and Akron are tied for second after shooting 278 (-6) out of 18 participating schools heading into round two on Monday.
Individually, Mason's Eric Edwards is tied for second overall with Craig Hornberger of Campbell after each shot 64 (-7). Trevor Tremps and Ellis Messian each carded even par to sit tied for 18th overall.
