CLARION, Pa. – The George Mason wrestling team improved to 2-0 in EWL contests with a 29-9 victory over Clarion on Sunday afternoon.
The Patriots move to 7-5 overall in duals, 2-0 in conference after also defeating Cleveland State last weekend.
Mason won the first six matches of the day as they cruised to the team win. Ibrahim Bunduka opened action with a 4-2 decision over Hunter Jones at 125lbs. while Vincent Rodriguez won by forfeit at 133lbs.
Sahid Kargbo and Greg Flournoy each won by major decision, 12-3 and 13-4, respectively. Konbeh Koroma was a winner again at 149lbs. 5-3 in overtime and Patrick Davis pinned his second man of the season, Kyle Braddock, at 165lbs. in 3:45. Jake Kettler ended the dual with a 6-1 decision over Joshua Davis.
The Patriots return to the state of Pennsylvania next weekend when they travel to face conference opponent Lock Haven on Friday, January 23 before hosting Rider and North Carolina on Sunday, January 25.
