FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason rowing senior Kim Griffin has been selected as the 2014-15 team captain as announced by the coaching staff.

The local native from Fairfax (Robinson High School) has been a staple in the varsity 8 since her freshman year and was stroke in the V8 last season.

“Kim is a great example of what I expect from the players on the team in the training room and in the classroom,” commented head coach Ted Nagorsen. “Her teammates look up to her for her hard work and she is greatly respected by her teammates. Kim understands the potential of the program and can help guide our younger athletes to reach the goal of the program.”

When selecting a team captain, the coaching staff looks for a student-athlete with a strong work ethic, respect of the team and coaching staff and a good role model of the university.
