FAIRFAX, Va. – Former Mason baseball star Justin Bour received the call up to the Major Leagues this week, where he will have is opportunity with the Miami Marlins.
Bour played for the Patriots from 2007-2009 before being drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 25th round of the 2009 Amateur Draft. He joins the Marlins after spending the 2014 season with the AAA New Orleans Zephyr's of the Pacific Coast League.
The Centreville, Va. native ranks among the all-time leaders in several categories in the Patriot record book, including first in putouts (1,273), tied for second with 46 career homeruns, third with 187 RBI, fourth with 404 total bases, fifth in fielding percentage (.986), sixth in slugging percentage (.621) and 11th in batting average (.347)
Bour was batting .330 with nine homeruns and 36 RBI in 55 games with New Orleans before being called up my Miami.
