The team representing George Mason University won the 12th Annual Cardinal Bank Charity Classic Tennis Tournament held at the Country Club of Fairfax. The team included the Mason head coaches, Gary Quam and Steve Curtis, Morgan Yang from the women's team, Aaron Capitel from the men's team and April Hurley, a Mason tennis supporter.
The event was comprised of a clinic directed by the Mason coaches and players. The clinic was followed by a 10-team World Cup format tournament. The Mason team went undefeated on the way to claiming the title. “This is a great event that we really enjoy being involved with,” commented the Patriots women's coach Stephen Curtis. “We feel it is important to give back to the community and the Inova Kellar Center is a wonderful organization with which we are proud to help.”
Proceeds from the Cardinal Classic benefit Inova Kellar Center and the Cardinal Bank Community Fund. Inova Kellar Center is an out-patient treatment center located in Fairfax, Virginia and serving the entire Northern Virginia and Washington, DC area. Inova Kellar Center provides a full continuum of care for children, teens and their families; treating mental illness, substance use disorder and learning disabilities. Inova Kellar Center is a model for care in the US and your support allows us to be able to meet the needs of many young people that might otherwise not receive services. Cardinal Bank, through the Cardinal Classic, has been a partnering with Inova Kellar Center for 12 years. Their long-time support has improved the lives of countless young people and allowed Inova Kellar Center to offer new services based on patient need.
