The series: Mason played Dayton for the first time in program history in the final weekend of the regular season, winning the first two games 8-5 and 9-1, respectively before the Flyers took the final game 2-1. Both teams will play each other for a fourth consecutive time in their opening games of the Atlantic 10 Baseball Tournament. 

The Patriots hold the third seed in the Atlantic 10 Tournament after finishing the regular season with an overall record of 30-20 and a conference record of 16-9. Defending champion Saint Louis claimed the top seed with a conference record of 18-7-1 followed by Saint Joseph's as the second seed with an A-10 mark of 18-8. 

Dayton ends up as the six seed in the tournament with a conference record of 14-13. VCU finished its A-10 slate at 15-10 to finish fourth overall with Richmond behind them at 13-12 in conference. Fordham rounds out the field in the seventh spot after finishing the A-10 season 13-14. 

Crosstown rivals VCU and Richmond will open the seven team Championship on Wednesday. First pitch of game one is slated for 10:00 a.m., with the winner moving on to play Saint Louis at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. SJU and Fordham will meet at 1:30 p.m. in game two, while George Mason and Dayton will square off in game three at 5:00 p.m.  Wednesday's nightcap will feature the losers of games two and three in an elimination contest starting at 8:30 p.m. All games are Central Standard Time.
