Rowing Wraps Up Season at Dad Vail Regatta

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Advancing from preliminary heats Friday morning, the George Mason rowing team had two boats race in the semi-finals Saturday morning to conclude the 2013-14 season. The varsity four and varsity pair fell just short of reaching the finals at the Dad Vail Regatta.

The varsity four opened semi-final action Saturday morning. With two boats advancing to the finals, Mason just missed the trip with a third-place finish. Grand Valley captured first in the semi-final with a time of 7:44.171, while Marist took second in 7:47.120. Mason crossed the finish in 7:51.149.

Just over an hour later, the varsity pair took to the water. With two semi-final heats, the top three boats from each semi-final advanced to the finals. In a tough semi-final, Mason finished fifth with a time of 8:42.755. Brock and Wheaton took the top two spots, while UMass and Mercyhurst finished third and fourth, respectively.
