Last time they met: Both teams split the season series last year,  winning in each others ballpark. The Patriots won the first matchup 3-2 in College Park before the Terps got revenge with a 16-1 victory in Fairfax.

Last time they met: The two sides split the series last season, again winning in each others home ballparks. Mason defeated the Hoyas 4-1 in Bethesda, Md. before Georgetown took down Mason in 10 innings by the score of 10-9 at Spuhler Field.

George Mason and Maryland will meet for the 44th time on Tuesday. Mason holds the all-time series record at 24-19. This will be the first of two meetings in 2014, the other on April 23 in College Park, Md. The Patriots hold the all-time series over Georgetown as well, winning 29 of the 40 games contested. 

Mason went 3-2 last week, splitting a doubleheader with Cornell on Wednesday before taking two of three from George Washington in Arlington. The series win puts Mason ahead 7-6 in the Revolutionary Rivalry, 5-2 in the Atlantic 10. 

Maryland most recently went 1-2 in a series with ACC member Wake Forest last weekend and won both of its midweek games versus VCU and Liberty.  The Terps come in with a 19-10 overall record and a conference mark of 6-8. 

The Hoyas opened up BIG EAST play over the weekend when they hosted Xavier. Georgeotwn fell in all three contests, losing by five or more runs in each. Both teams will also meet next week when the Patriots travel to Shirley Povich Field in Bethesda, Md. on April 15.
