Track Performs Well Across the Country

After two days of competition this weekend the Patriots have has strong performances for athletes across the country.

Mason dominated track events at Baylor's Michael Johnson meet, taking five of the top 10 finishes in the women's 100m dash and five of the top 11 in the same event on the men's side.

Women's 200m Dash

Aneesha Scott finished first overall in the women's 100m dash with a time of 12.03 followed by Jasmine Robinson who finished fifth with a time of 12.21. Robinson also finished ninth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.13. Taylor Wheaton finished fourth in the women's 400m dash with a time of 57.13, Bernard Freeman took fourth in the same event on the men's side with a time of 48.69. DaQuan Smalls took sixth in the 100m dash with a time of 10.91 followed by Ayo Raymond at ninth with a time of 10.95. In the field events, Byron Sintim took third in the long jump (7.12m) and Chantel Richardson took eighth in the same event on the women's side with a mark of 5.67m.

At Morgan state, senior Jason Wellington took second place in the men's hammer throw with a mark of 51.78. Two Patriots finished in the top 20 in javelin with Kenzell Crawford (39.63m) and Ryan Williams (39.39m)finishing 17^th and 18^th respectively.

On the women's side, Amanda Denger finished third in the javelin with a distance of 38.08m, Emily Muniz finished third in the hammer throw with a mark of 44.89m and Haley Hale took 11^th in the same event with a distance of 38.65. Briana Hill rounded out the women's field events with an eighth place finish in the long jump with a distance of 5.40m.

At the Larry Ellis Invite at Princeton, Bethany Sachtleben finished fifth in the women's 5000m run with a time of 16:23.76.While Mandissa Marshall finished seventh in the women's elite pole vault with a mark of 4.25m.
