The women's tennis team fell to Loyola 2-4 today in a match that was called for darkness.
Mason started the match strong by taking all three doubles matches to earn the opening point. Once singles play started senior Ashley Delaney rolled through her Greyhound opponent 6-1, 6-1 to put the Patriots up 2-0. Loyola fought and was able to win at #2, #5 and #1 to take a 3-2 lead. Mason needed both of the final matches to finish the match. Olivia Lacy-Thompson battled but fell in two hard sets. With the match outcome decided Esu Erdenebat and Emily Hughes had split sets when it became to dark to continue so their match was suspended with no winner.
Mason is back in action tomorrow at 9:30am as they take on North Carolina A & T.
Mason tennis will recognize their seniors on Sunday at 12:45 before the men host LaSalle.
