The Patriots will serve as hosts of the Mason Spring Invitational this Saturday at George Mason Stadium. Over 1,100 student-athletes from 36 universities will compete at the meet.
Field events are slated to start at 10:00 a.m. with track events kicking off at noon. Sprint events will be on the track in the afternoon and following an hour break, distance events will begin at 7:00 p.m. The final event of the meet, the men's 5,000, will start at 9:40 p.m.
Mason has been strong during the outdoor season, with the women recently braking into the Top 15 in the USTFCCCA Southeast Region standings at 13th. Mandissa Marshall leads the way for Mason with the nation's fifth best mark in the pole vault with a mark of 4.25m (13' 11.25”) from the Raleigh Relays.
On the men's side, George Empty is 10th in the nation in the 400m hurdles with a time of 52.06, also from the Raleigh Relays.
