Coming off a strong weekend at the Occoquan Sprints, the George Mason rowing team heads to New Jersey this weekend for the annual Knecht Cup. The two-day regatta features competition from nearly 70 schools across the country.

Mason will race eight boats in the regatta: varsity four, second varsity four, women's frosh/novice four, varsity eight and second varsity eight. Satruday's events will feature the preliminary heats and semi-finals, while Sunday will host the final rounds of competition. Racing for the regatta opens on Saturday at 7 a.m. with the women's varsity pair. Mason kicks things off with the varsity four at approximately 8:10 a.m.

Last season, the novice four captured the silver medal at the Knecht Cup on the Cooper River as five boats returned for the final day of competition. Three boats finished in the top-three of their respective finals.
