Men's Tennis lost a close battle to the Richmond Spiders, 4-3 at the Mason Tennis Center. The doubles point was decided on a tiebreaker at one doubles. The Patriots fall to 12-7, 3-2 in the Atlantic 10.

With the Patriots Jimmy Lange and Joe Hill serving for the match, Ethan and Jacob Dunbar broke serve to take the match to a tiebreaker. Lange and Hill fell 7-5 in the breaker. At two doubles Taylor Sargent and Tanner Baine lost to Canyon Teague and Dylan Trent 8-6. Jimmy Davis and Chris Borden scored an 8-2 win at three doubles over Dylan Trent and Jonathon Quenard.

Mason and Richmond split the singles matches with each team winning three matches. Winning for the Patriots were Jimmy Lange in a 6-4, 6-1 decision over Dylan Trent at three singles, Tanner Baine at five singles, 6-1, 6-7 (5), 6-4 over Jonathon Quenard, and Taylor Sargent at six singles defeated Noah Fenton 6-3, 7-6 (8). One, two and four singles all went to three sets. Jimmy Davis fell to Ethan Dumbar 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 at one singles. Joe Hill lost to Jacob Dunbar 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 at two singles, and Aaron Capitel lost to Alex Hahn at four singles 6-4, 5-7, 6-2.

"I don't know how this match could have been any closer. The doubles point was decided in a tiebreaker, and four of the singles matches went to three sets." said coach Quam.  "Our guys competed very well against a good Richmond team."

The Patriots are in action at home again on Saturday April 12 versus George Washington at 1:00 pm.  Coming up on Sunday April 13 is Senior Day for the Patriots. Seniors Jimmy Davis, Taylor Sargent and Chris Borden will be honored prior to the start of the match with LaSalle. Start time is 12:00 pm on Senior Day.
