Springfield, Va. - The women's tennis team defeated Hampton 5-0 at the Springfield Golf and Country Club Thursday evening. The teams were playing an abbreviated 4-1 format which is four singles and one double matches all worth one point.
Mason was led by sophomore Brittany Pilkington and freshman Morgan Yang, who both had decisive victories over their Pirate opponents.
"This was tough for both teams starting so late but we had a good attitude and were able to prevail", commented Stephen Curtis, Head Coach. "We needed this win to get us in the correct mind set for our spring break matches."
Mason heads on their Spring Fest trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina where they will place four matches in a span of five days before returning to host Howard on March 19th as their first match on their new tennis courts.
