The George Mason golf team traveled to Florida during spring break to host the second annual Mission Inn Spring Spectacular, a 54-hole golf tournament, this weekend in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. After two rounds of play on Saturday, the Patriots stand in 13th place in the 17-team event.

The Virginia Tech Hokies have a seven stroke lead over second-place Texas Tech. on the par 72, 7,001-yard EL Campeon Course going into the final round Sunday. Two Hokies Bryce Chalkley and Trevor Cone are tied at the top of the leaderboard with a two-round 140. Cone carded the low today with a 67. Texas Tech's Esteban Restrepo is in third after carding a two-round 143.

The Patriots were led by Zack Lauzon and Mark Folkwein, who each carded a 158.  Lauzon had the low round for Mason with a second round 76.

Final round is scheduled for Sunday morning.
