The George Mason softball team is set to host the Cherry Blossom Classic this weekend here in Fairfax, Virginia. The tournament is set to take place on Friday, March 14, Saturday, March 15 and Sunday, March 16. Colgate, Binghamton, and Akron will all make trip to participate in the Tournament.
The Patriots had a lot of success in the Mason Invitational this past weekend. The Green and Gold won four out of six games. Most recently, the Patriots lost a doubleheader to Longwood on Tuesday, March 11.

SOFTBALL vs. Colgate
WHEN: Friday, 4:45 p.m., Sunday, 10:00 a.m.

Notes:
Colgate comes into this tournament with a record of 1-9 having lost four games in a row. Marisa Dowling leads the Raiders with a .333 batting average on ten hits. Dowling also has a team-best one home run and eight RBI.
Meanwhile, Brigit Ieuter leads the Raider pitching staff with a 1-5 record. Ieuter has a team-best 2.90 ERA with seven strike outs.
SOFTBALL vs. Akron

Notes:
Akron comes into the tournament on a six-game winning streak. Shawna Mailoux leads the Zips with a .368 batting average on a team-high 38 at bats. Another impressive hitter, Chelsea Wildey, leads Akron with eight RBI this season.
Meanwhile, Erin Seiler comes into the tournament undefeated with a 4-0 record. Seiler also has a team-best 1.82 ERA with 31 strike outs.

RECORDS: George Mason (4-10), Binghamton (6-6)
SERIES RECORD: Mason is tied 2-2
Notes:
Binghamton comes into the tournament on a two-game winning streak. Lisa Cadogan leads the Bearcats with a .379 batting average on 11 hits. Cadogan has also contributed seven RBI for Binghamton.
Meanwhile, Demi Laney leads the Bearcats pitching staff with a 3.40 ERA. Laney has also won every Binghamton game this season. So far, she is 6-2 with 33 strike outs.
