FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason wrestling team hits the road to face its second Eastern Wrestling League opponent in Bloomsburg University on Sunday afternoon.
The Patriots wrestle in their nineteenth dual of the season at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 9 in Bloomsburg, Pa. They will enter the match with a 6-12 dual record this season and look to bounce back after back-to-back losses last weekend.
Mason traveled to wrestle conference opponent Clarion on Saturday, dropping a 23-12 decision in Clarion, Pa. The team was back in action the next morning on Sunday where the Patriots fell 26-10 to Bucknell University, improving on the previous 27-9 defeat at the Virginia Duals in January. Sophomore Sahid Kargbo won both of his matches over the weekend and leads the team with 17 total victories and a team-high 12 duals wins this season heading into this Sunday.
The Huskies of Bloomsburg most recently defeated conference foe Clarion 28-8 on Sunday, February 2 to improve their overall record to 7-6 this season, 3-2 in conference. EWL victories for Bloomsburg also include wins over Lock Haven (19-16) and Cleveland State (30-8). The team boasts three wrestlers ranked in the top-25 of their respective weight class by Amateur Wrestling News.
