George Mason track and field looks to continue its strong indoor campaign this weekend at the Armory Invitational in New York, NY and the Valentine's Invitational in Boston, Ma.
Mason will spilt its squad in two, sending a small squad of distance runners to Boston. The group includes Atlantic 10 cross country champion Bethany Sachtelben who will compete in the 5K. Sachtelben is one of two women who will compete for the Patriots at the Valentine's Invitational, while the men's team sends a larger contingent with 10 competitors.
The majority of athletes competing this weekend will head to the Armory Invitational in New York. Two-time A-10 male Performer of the Week Adrian Vaughn takes to the track in hopes of helping the men's team to their second straight meet title as he competes individually in the 200m and 400m as well as with the 4 x 400m relay team.
The women's side will also be going for their second straight meet title this weekend. Senior Mandissa Marshall looks to capture her fifth pole vault title in as many weeks while fellow senior Daianna Barron is set to compete in the individual 400m as well as the 4x400m relay.
Freshman and reigning A-10 Rookie of the Week Chantel Richardson will represent the Patriots in the long jump along side Chaise Cook-Martin. Cook-Martin will double up, competing in the triple jump as well where she'll be joined by another A-10 Rookie of the Week in Nhautrey Brown.
