The George Mason softball team will open the 2014 season this weekend at the USC Upstate Tournament in Spartanburg, South Carolina.  Mason will face Ball State and USC Upstate in the tournament.

Last Season the Patriots finished with an 18-37 overall record.  However, the Patriots have 18 total returning starters for this season.  This will also be the first season that George Mason plays in the A-10 conference.  The Green and Gold's home opener will be on Tuesday, February 18 against UMBC at 2:30 p.m.

Ball State:

The Cardinals are 3-0 so far this season.  They will play each other on Sunday, February 16 at 12:00 p.m.  Ball State finished the 2013 season with an impressive 37-17 overall record.

USC Upstate:

Next for the Green and Gold is USC Upstate.  They will play each other on Sunday, February 16 at 4:00p.m. This will be the fifth time these two teams meet.  The Patriots have an overall record of 0-4 against the Spartans.  So far on the season, USC Upstate is undefeated at 5-0.

The Patriots were scheduled to play Appalachian State and Presbyterian, however those games have been cancelled due to weather concerns.
