GoMason.com: Why did you choose to run for George Mason?
Sachtleben: I chose to run for Mason because I really liked the campus and it allowed me to run cross country and track while still getting to stay close to home.
GoMason.com: Who is your inspiration for running, who do you look up to the most?
Sachtleben: My inspiration for running is Shalane Flanagan. I want to be a marathoner in the future and aspire to be as tough, determined, and positive of an athlete as she is. I also admire that she is never afraid to put her giant and daunting goals out for the world to see because she isn't afraid of failure and disappointment. It can be a scary thing to face the expectations that others have for you, but Shalane embraces those expectations and uses them to push her toward her goals. I want to be just like that someday.
GoMason.com: How do you spend your free time?
Sachtleben: Whenever I have free time I like to read (books that are not assigned for school!). I also like to watch reality TV shows because they make me feel good about my life :)
GoMason.com: Some of your favorites?
Sachtleben: Song: anything by Hanson or Taylor Swift
Food: Pasta
Sport other than XC: Tennis
Show: The Bachelor
