The George Mason men's and women's swimming & diving teams were both defeated by La Salle in Philadelphia, Pa. on Saturday.
The Explorers were able to defeat the men by the score of 182-118 and the women 168-132.
The women's 200-yard medley relay team was able to record the first victory of the afternoon in a time of 1:48.33 thanks to Kara Tansill, Amy Tansill, Kelsey Ryan and Sydney Fisher. Fishere's name would come up twice more in the win column as she claimed the 50-yard freestyle (23.97) and the 100-yard butterfly (54.17).
Freshman Dorothy Reilly was also twice a winner in the 200-yard backstroke (2:07.95) and led a trio of Patriots in the 200-yard butterfly (2:06.64), followed by Madion Baker and Gentry Anderson. Steff Maurer tacked on a win in the 200-yard freestyle (1:46.60).
Daniel Camozzo and Travis Lauri each took part in three wins for Mason on the men's team. Lauri placed first the 50 and 100-yard freestyle events with times of 21.07 and 46.80, respectively, while Camozzo won the 100 and 200-yard butterfly (48.09 and 1:47.74, respectively).
The two were also a part of the victorious 400-yard freestyle relay with the help of Alec Morin and Jesse Burnley in a time of 2:59.98.
The men and women are back in action when the annual Patriot Invitational takes place at George Mason, beginning on Thursday, November 20.
