FAIRFAX, Va. - Two duals are on tap this weekend for the George Mason wrestling team, beginning with a trip to Clarion, Pa. to wrestle Clarion University on Saturday, February 1.
The matchup with Clarion will be the first Eastern Wrestling League opponent that Mason faces this season and is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. The Golden Eagles match Mason's dual record of 6-10 this season with wins over Campbell University, Tiffin, Columbia, University at Buffalo, Davidson and Brown. Clarion is 0-2 in conference with losses to Edinboro and Rider.
The Patriots return to Fairfax on Saturday evening in preparation for a 9 a.m. dual with Bucknell on Sunday, February 2 in the Recreation and Athletic Complex. Both teams previously faced each other at the Virginia Duals with the Bison taking the contest, 27-9. Bucknell has a dual record of 5-8 this season.
Mason has won its last two duals, both victories coming at home. The Patriots defeated VMI 22-12 on January and followed up with a 24-12 win over Franklin & Marshall last weekend.
Sunday morning's dual will also include a five-minute halftime performance by the George Mason drill team.
