Women's Tennis Falls in Season Opener

The Mason women's tennis team opened the season by traveling to the Naval Academy to to take on St. Francis (PA). The Patriots fell to the Red Flash, 1-5.

Mason's lone victory came at the No. 2 singles spot as Brittany Pilkington defeated Lucy Jasso in a third set tie-breaker. Ashley Delaney lost at the No. 6 position in a third set tie-breaker. Morgan Yang, Sofia Santa Maria, Marijke Boers and Esu Erdenebat all lost in two close sets.

"Our young team fell short today to a very inspired Red Flash team" commented Coach Curtis. "When you start three freshmen, two sophomores and one senior there are going to be some teaching moments, today was definitely one of those".

Due to court and time limitations the doubles matches we're not completed.
The Patriots return to Annapolis on February 2nd to take on the Navy team.
