DES MOINES, Iowa – Former Mason standout David Verburg continued his success on the track this weekend with a sixth-place finish in the 400m dash at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Des Moines, Iowa.
Competing against top talent from across the nation, Verburg finished in sixth place with a time of 45.34. A day earlier he broke the 45-second mark in the semifinals with a PR of 44.75, currently the seventh-fastest time in the world.
Via his sixth-place finish in the 400m, Verburg has the opportunity to travel to the IAAF World Championships as a member of the Team USA 4x400m relay, held from August 10-18 in Moscow, Russia.
