Fairfax, VA—George Mason wrestling head coach Joe Russell has been selected to coach the USA 17 and under National Greco-Roman Wrestling team at the 2013 Cadet World Wrestling Championships August 20-25 in Zrenjanin, Serbia.

“I am excited to lead our Cadet National team at the world championships,” said Russell. “It is an honor to represent the United States of America. Marko Gujanicic, a native of Serbia who competes on our basketball team, has given me some pointers on travel in Serbia.  It should be a great adventure.”

This isn't the first time Russell has coach a cadet national team. This is his second stint with the USA 17 and under team at the Cadet World Wrestling Championships, serving as the coach in 1999 in Denmark.
