Women's Tennis Honors Lone Senior

The Mason women's tennis team honored its lone senior, Kiertsen Pappas, Saturday afternoon before falling 6-1 to conference foe Hofstra.

The teams split the first two doubles matches completed as Ashley Delaney and Brittany Pilkington won at No. 2 but Esu Erdenebat and Kate Desiatnikova lost at No. 3. The No. 1 doubles turned out to be a battle but Pappas and Maya HIcks fell just short losing to Bowen and Tsay, 7-9.

Erdenebat was the only Patriot on the winning side of the singles scoreboard as she defeated Derrick 6-3, 6-1. At No. 3 singles Pappas spilt the first two sets but her opponent prevailed in the tie-breaker.

Mason will head to Towson on Tuesday to take on the Tigers at 3:00 pm.

1. Hicks/Pappas (Mason) lost to Bowen/Tsay, 7-9
2. Delaney/Pilkington (Mason) defeated Gilanchi/Derrick, 8-5
3. Erdenebat/Desiatnikova (Mason) lost to Lopez/Polizois, 5-8

6. Andy Londen (Mason) lost to Polizois, 2-6, 2-6
