PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The George Mason track and field team had one relay and two men's field events compete in day two of the Penn Relays on Friday afternoon from Philadelphia.
Leading the way was the women's 4x200m relay of Aneesha Scott, Shavon Briscoe, Daianna Barron and Cierra McGee, who took the last qualifying spot for Saturday's final after finishing eighth in 1:35.87. The time was the fastest of the season for the relay, and advanced them to the finals which will be held on Saturday at 2:25 p.m.
The men had two field event competitors on the day. Patrick Dietrick tied his PR and also qualified for the IC4A Championships with a season-best height of 4.80m in the pole vault. Kirk Nguyen took part in the discus, placing 29th with a toss of 40.48m.
Mason wraps up competition at the historic relays on Saturday with several relays set to take to the track.
