RICHMOND, Va. – Christina Gabriele was named Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday. This marks the first time Gabriele has received the honor thus far this season.

Gabriele was 2-0 in pitching this past week in the two games she started. She pitched a complete game and allowed only one hit in the second game of the Patriots doubleheader with UMES. Gabriele also was the winning pitcher in Mason's 2-1 win over Hofstra. Her ERA for the week was 1.17 with 11 strikeouts and three walks. In batting, Gabriele hit .375 with three hits in her eight at bats.
