The Patriots take to the diamond in a pair of non-conference games against Georgetown and UMBC this week. The game versus Georgetown completes a home-and-home series, while Mason and UMBC square off for the lone time in 2013.

Mason is 13-23 overall this season, recently snapping a 10-game skid with a 4-2 win over Towson on Saturday. Blaise Fernandez leads the team, hitting .375 with a team-best 54 hits and 12 doubles, while Tucker Tobin is hitting .336 with a team leading eight home runs, 32 RBI's and 28 runs scored.

Gauging Georgetown

The Hoyas are 20-13 this season, and Tuesday's game kicks off a streak of eight games on the road where they have posted a 4-3 record this season.

Mason topped Georgetown, 4-1, earlier this season in Bethesda backed by a 3-for-5, three RBI performance by Tobin. The Patriots lead the all-time series, 30-11.

Trevor Matern leads the team, hitting .350, while Just Leeson has a team-best 43 hits and 23 runs scored and Christian Venditti tops the team with 26 RBI's and four home runs.

Rating the Retrievers

UMBC is just 8-18 on the season and has lost its last seven games heading into Tuesday. Mason leads the all-time series, 29-10.

Jake Barnes paces the offense, hitting .292 with a team-best nine doubles and two home runs, while Kevin LaChance has a team-leading 27 hits and Brandon Coluccio leads the squad with 11 RBI's.
