GW is 10-17 overall this season and is coming off a 2-1 A-10 series win over Temple this weekend. Brookes Townsend leads the team hitting .268, while Just Albright has a team-best 23 hits, 13 runs scored and seven stolen bases, and Derek Brown a team-best 13 RBI's.
Looking at Longwood
This will be just the 11th all-time meeting between the two teams, as Mason owns a 6-4 advantage in the all-time series. It is a home-and-home series with the teams this season, as the Lancers will travel to Fairfax on April 23.
Longwood will travel to Knoxville, Tennessee on Tuesday to take on the University of Tennessee before welcoming the Patriots on Wednesday. They enter the week with a 12-16 overall record and in their first season in the Big South have a 4-5 record. Most recently they dropped a conference series at Liberty this past weekend, 1-2.
Alex Owens leads the offense, starting all 28 games and hitting .323 with 32 hits, 21 RBI's and four home runs. Kyri Washington has a team-best 11 doubles, while Brandon Delk leads the team with 19 runs scored.
