The Patriots and Terrapins will meet for the first time this season on Tuesday in College Park. Maryland will make the return trip to Spuhler Field on April 10. Tuesday's game will be the 44th meeting between the two squads, and the Patriots lead the all-time series, 24-19.
Mason enters the weekend 11-12 overall after dropping a CAA series to James Madison over the weekend. The Patriots claimed Friday's game with an 11-2 triumph, but fell on Saturday, 11-4, and Sunday, 5-2.
Junior Tucker Tobin, one of just three players to start every game this season, leads the Mason offense hitting a team-best .396 with 38 hits, six home runs, 23 RBI's and 21 runs scored. Right on his heels is Blaise Fernandez, who is hitting .383 with 36 hits, a team-best 11 doubles, 16 RBI's and 14 runs scored.
Maryland is 14-9 overall and 12-4 at home this season. Tuesday's game is the last of a nine-game homestand for the Terps and, despite the impressive home record, Maryland has gone an even 4-4 over the span. Most recently, the Terps dropped an ACC weekend series to Wake Forest, winning on Friday but losin both Saturday and Sunday.
Junior Kyle Convissar has started all 23 games for Maryland and is hitting a team-best .357 with 30 hits and 24 RBI's.
