FAIRFAX, Va. - The
George Mason men's swimming and diving team finished third with 591 points
while the women finished in eighth with 208 points in the Colonial Athletic
Association Championships which concluded Saturday night. UNCW took the men's
championship for the twelfth year in a row and Towson took the title for the
women.
In today's events, Fernando
Rubio finished third in the 1650 Freestyle with a time of 15:30.89. David Kiss
and Joey Kelly took second in their respective events. Kiss finished with a
1:47.11 mark in the 200 Butterfly and Kelly finished with a time of 44.29 in
the 100 Freestyle.
For the women, Melissa
Davis took second with a new school record of 1:58.11 in the 200 Backstroke.
Mason had several
athletes place in the top three throughout the championships with Fernando
Rubio and Paige Impink claiming CAA Champion titles.
