HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - Kevin Yerks carded a final-round 76 to lead the George Mason
golf team on the final day as hosts of the inaugural Mission Inn Spring
Spectacular, held at the par-72 Las Colinas course Sunday afternoon. Indiana
University captured the team title with a combined score of 869, while Georgia
State's Jonathan Grey's 208 score earned him top individual finisher honors.
The Patriots, meanwhile, combined for a team score of 934 to
finish 16th on the weekend.
Alec Kormanec was the top overall finisher for the Patriots
team, tying for 64th and shooting a 234 while Casey Thompson and
Mark Folkwein each finished at 235. Danny Kim was one stroke behind, while
Yerks finished the weekend with a 238. Individually, Mason's Christian Bech
shot a 233 while Bryan Giles contributed a 247.
Next up for the Patriots is a trip to Williamsburg, where they
will take part in the C&F Invitational hosted by William & Mary on
March 24-26.
