The Mason golf team is tied for
seventh at the Bash at the Beach three-day tournament in Myrtle Beach, SC. The
Patriots carded a 295 (+11) on the par 71, 6,817-yard course and go into round
two tomorrow tied with Western Kentucky in the 13-team tournament.
Mason's Casey Thompson shot an
one-under par 70 to stand tied for eighth place overall. Alex Kormenc (73)
carded a two-over par and is tied for 20th. Freshman Mark Folkwein is
in 39th (75) Kevin Yeks stands in 48th (77).
High Point's McKay Tye posted the lowest score of the afternoon, pacing the
field with a 7-under, 65, as the Panthers sit in fourth place, seven shots
behind the tournament-leading Highlanders.
