FAIRFAX, Va. - The
George Mason softball team fell 0-3 to Cornell on Sunday in the final day of the
Mason Invitational. Mason was 0-5 throughout the tournament and are now 6-11
overall on the season.
Cornell took a 2-0 lead
in the third inning on Taylor Goodin and Clare Feely runs.
Goodin was brought home from a Feely double and Kristen Towne singled to bring
Feely home.
Emily Weinberg scored
in the fifth inning for Cornell to bring the score to 3-0. She scored after
Towne laid down a sacrifice bunt.
Alyson Onyon was the
winning pitcher for the Big Red and Casey Herring picked up the loss.
Mason returns to action
next weekend when hosting the Cherry Blossom Classic starting Friday.
