FAIRFAX, Va. - This
last edition of Rookie Profiles features Casey Price and Sarah Solano. Price is
a native of Mechanicsville, Va. where she attended Lee-Davis High School. While
at Lee-Davis she was a member of the 2011 AAA Virginia softball championship
team and was also the 2012 Central Region Player of the Year. Solano is from
Valencia, Calif. and attended Valencia High School where she lettered in
softball for three years. She was also named Scholar Athlete of the Year in her
senior year.
GoMason.com: What
is your favorite part about George Mason University, so far?
Solano: The
Birthday Cake ice cream at Southside.
Price: All
the new people I've met.
GoMason.com: Why
did you choose George Mason University?
Solano: Since
I was a freshman in high school it has always been my dream to play Division I
softball at a university on the east coast.
Price: It's
just far enough away from home.
GoMason.com: How
did you get into softball?
Solano: My
best friend used to play and I thought it would be fun to play on the same team
as her.
Price: I
would see my sister playing and I wanted to do the same things as her.
GoMason.com: What
are your goals for this season?
Solano: My
goals are to become stronger physically and mentally and to be faster.
Price: To
become a consistent player on offense and defense to help my team be
successful.
GoMason.com: If
you could go back in time throughout history, what would you change and why?
Solano: I
would change slavery and make it so that the idea and practice never existed.
Price: I
would change Hostess going out of business because I love Mini Muffins.
GoMason.com: If
you could meet any celebrity dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Solano: I
would meet Johnny Cash because I think he was an incredible artist.
