The George Mason women's tennis team split their two matches this weekend. The Patriots hosted Morgan State at Montclair Country Club
on Saturday evening. The Bears put up a valiant effort winning the doubles point and the top singles match, but Mason prevailed 5-2.
Mason then had to travel to the Naval Academy for an early match on
Sunday. The short turn around time and a very strong Navy team turned
out to be too much for the Patriots as they fell 0-7 to the Mid-Shipmen.
"I was pleased with the progress that we made in our point play from
last week to this," commented Coach Stephen Curtis. "We are probably
facing the strongest schedule in Mason history but I know we will
continue to improve and it will make us better."
Mason is back on the hardcourt this Sunday at Monclair CC against George Washington at 5 p.m.
