COLLEGE PARK, Md. - In their last regular season dual, the George Mason
wrestling team ultimately fell to No. 24 ranked University of Maryland, 23-15,
Thursday night.
Maryland held an 8-0
lead after a pair of major decision wins in the first two matches. The Patriots
first points of the dual came from Sahid Kargbo at 141 after he pinned Bradley
Molina two minutes and fifty-five seconds into their match.
After Greg Flournoy and
Jaaziah Bethea at 149 and 157, respectively, won their matches by decision the
Patriots led the Terps 12-8 going into the 165 match. Over the next four
matches the Terps would regain and stretch their lead out to 23-12.
The Patriots finished
the dual strong with Jake Kettler's 2-1 decision win over Carl Buchholz in the
last match of the night for a final score of 23-15.
Mason returns to the
mat for the CAA Championships in Boston, Mass. on March 9th.
