FAIRFAX, Va. - Following a successful NWCA All-Star Classic on November 2, the Greater Washington Wrestling Business Network's DC Chapter recently made a significant $38,000 gift to the George Mason wrestling program.

The gift was made possible because of all of the efforts that the GWWBN put in to making the event a financial success through ticket sales and sponsorship.

Dan Wotring, a former Mason wrestler, local business man and a founding member of the GWWBN Board, states “The success of our local group through the efforts of the local community and our relationship with the National Wrestling Coaches Association has enabled us to have the funds to distribute to the GMU program. It is exciting for us to do so.”

Mason Head coach Joseph Russell is also appreciative of the effort contributed by the GWWBN.

“We are thankful to the GWWBN for taking the lead in hosting the 2013 NWCA All-Star Classic at the Patriot Center on the campus of George Mason University,” said Russell. “Numerous volunteers rallied to make the All-Star Classic a success.

“As a result of the event, we were able to showcase the George Mason University Wrestling program. We were also able to have wrestling fans on campus and in Fairfax for the weekend and we were able to raise some money for our program and other wrestling programs in the area. Due to the efforts of many volunteers, led by the GWWBN, the 2013 NWCA All-Star Classic had a positive impact on our program and the sport of wrestling in the local community.”

The Greater Washington Wrestling Business Network is a local chapter and now part of the newly created Wrestlers In Business Network. The WIBN is expanding into strategic communities across the nation. The goal of the Wrestlers in Business Network is to bring the professional community together for the purposes of supporting each other personally, and professionally.  For more information on the WIBN, visit http://www.wrestlinginbusiness.org.
