FAIRFAX, Va. - GoMason.com continues to go Out of the Pool this season, this time catching up with senior Daniel Camozzo. The Herndon, Va. native most recently helped the Patriots swimming & diving team earn its first even men's Patriot Invitational team points championship.

Gomason.com: What made you choose to swim at George Mason?

Camozzo: I transferred here and wanted to be close to home after my time at another school. Being friends with several guys on the team and knowing Damian from my club team also were factors in choosing Mason.

GoMason.com: What is the best part about swimming for George Mason?

Camozzo: We are lucky to have a great facility, and the team dynamics and attitude are very positive and make a good training environment.

GoMason.com: What are your thoughts on the season so far, individually and as a team?

Camozzo: So far I am having a great season, I am ahead of where I was last year, which was also my best season to date. I am very excited about where we are as a team as well; we have a good shot at winning the conference championships in February.

GoMason.com: What goals do you have for the second half of the season?

Camozzo: My main goal for this season is to win conferences, and to do whatever I can to contribute.

GoMason.com: What kind of music do you listen to before a race?

Camozzo: It varies, usually depending on my mood. Sometimes electronic, sometimes rap, sometimes metal.

GoMason.com: What activities do you like to do outside of the pool?

Camozzo: I like to go mountain biking, and I play guitar.

GoMason.com: How do you stay in shape during the offseason?

Camozzo: There isn't much of an off season in swimming since I'm usually still training 5+ days a week, but I like to vary what I do in the pool and in the gym more than what we are usually allowed to do in-season.

GoMason.com: What is your favorite/least favorite workout to do in practice?

Camozzo: My favorite workout probably involves working on underwaters, using fins or paddles, or both. Least favorite is definitely anything involving IM.

GoMason.com: Which item is at the top of your Christmas wish list?

Camozzo: A nice pair of slacks.

Other Favorites:

Food: All kinds. I really like Thai food though.

Movie: Tropic Thunder is up there.

Quote: “You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.” - Wayne Gretzky, Michael Scott

Song: I don't really have one favorite but I've definitely been overplaying Timber by Kesha lately.
