FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason wrestling team will see action in five different meets on Saturday, November 23 and Sunday, November 24, including the first team competitions of the season.
Mason will send wrestlers to Annapolis, Md. on Saturday to participate in the Navy Classic at 10 a.m. while also sending team members to Lexington, Va. for a dual with Washington and Lee University at 2 p.m. The Patriots upended Washington and Lee last season 31-9 and placed seventh at the Navy Classic.
Brown, Bucknell, The Citadel, Cleveland State, Frankin & Marshall, Kent State, Navy, Ohio, Princeton, Tennessee at Chattanooga, West Virginia and Wisconsin will all join Mason at the Navy Classic on Saturday. Preliminary round will begin at 10 a.m. followed by semifinals at 2:30 and finals at 5 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students and those 18 years and under.
The team will then travel to Davidson, N.C. on Sunday for a quad dual meet with Davidson, Anderson University and nationally-ranked Ohio State University.
The Patriots have sent wrestlers to compete as unattached so far this season, including last weekend at the Wolfpack Open in Raleigh, N.C. where sophomore Vincent Rodriguez won his weight class of 133lbs.
