George Mason carded their best team score in the final round to finish 14th at the fourth annual ODU/Outerbanks Collegiate Golf Tournament at the Kilmarlic Golf Course.
Senior Kevin Yerks and Zack Lauzon led the Patriots with a three-round 220. Yerks shot even par today and Lauzon two-over par to finish tied for 36th. Freshman Mark Folkwein carded a three-round 226 and Bryan Giles finished with a 229 score to round out the scoring for the Patriots.
VCU captured the team crown with a 843 after shooting the lowest final round of 271. Maryland shot a 274 today to finish at 852 for the 54-hole event. Hartford was third at 853, Marshall was fourth at 857 and ODU tied with Elon for fifth at 859. Host Monarchs shot the second lowest round of the day at 273.
Three players finished in a three-way tie for first place. Logan Lagodich of Marshal prevailed against ODU's Jamison Randall and VCU's Roky Khara in a one-hole playoff to take the individual championship.
Randall, who finished with a 207 score shot a 69 in the final round to tie Lagodich and VCU's Rocky Khara and force a three-way playoff. Evan Russell of Hartford and John Somers of Elon tied for fourth two strokes back with a 209.
