White Sulphur Springs, W. Va.- Mason's women's tennis began Colonial Athletic Association
action yesterday against James Madison at the Greenbriar. The Dukes swept the Patriots
5-0, winning the only doubles match of the day as well as all four singles
matches. The teams played five matches due to a electrical issues at the facility.
The Mason pair of senior Kiersten Pappas and freshman
Erdenesuren Erdenebat was unable to stop the Dukes' Cara Wirth and Katherine
Bulling, falling 8-4 in the only doubles match of the day.
James Madison earned all four possible points in the singles matches.
The Duke's Taylor Pinchoff defeated the Patriot's freshman Brittany Pilkington
at the top singles position in two sets by a score of 6-2 and 6-3.
The Patriots return to action Sunday, February 3 against
Navy in Annapolis, Md.
